We request that before you start playing Asheron’s Call, you take a moment to read the Asheron’s Call Code of Conduct below. The Code of Conduct is designed to make everyone’s game experience as enjoyable as possible. Any violation by you of the Code of Conduct could result in your suspension or termination from Asheron’s Call, with no refund of any prepaid fees.
What is considered inappropriate behavior?
-Foul or offensive language or hate speech (including, by way of example, but not limited to, ethnic slurs and religious epithets) as determined by Turbine staff.
-Harassment of other players or Turbine staff, including by way of example, but not limited to, threats, stalking or abuse of others.
-Use of sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or other offensive or inappropriate language, content, character names, titles, descriptions, or in-game labels (including, by way of example, but not limited to, offensive or inappropriate fellowship names, pet names and inscriptions) as determined by Turbine staff. Inappropriate language, content, names, titles, descriptions or labels can include those that in any way look like, sound like, stand for, hint at, abbreviate, or insinuate any of the following: profanity, sexual content (including, but not limited to, explicit language, sexual innuendo, negative, disparaging, and harmful references to sexual preferences), slurs (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, and religious slurs), illegal drugs/controlled substances, and illegal activities.
-Arguing with or neglecting to follow instructions of Turbine staff. The IDs of Turbine staff contain special characters, such as the PLUS symbol [ + ].
-Impersonation of Turbine (or its licensors’ or distributors’) personnel.
-Misusing Help and abusing channels in the game, including, by way of example, but not limited to, filing false reports or repeated filings of the same report.
-Hacking or deliberately using game bugs or loopholes to disrupt the game.
-Use of unauthorized third-party software or macros with the Software may be prohibited in the sole discretion of Turbine. Specifically, you may not use third-party software which allows your character to gain experience points or items by engaging in combat without being at the keyboard, ready to respond to Turbine staff on demand (this activity is commonly called a “Combat Macro”). Logging off as soon as an admin appears (visible or invisible) or when an admin tries to speak with you will be taken into consideration in determining the use of Combat Macros.
-Offering for sale or auction, or otherwise commercially exploiting, the Asheron’s Call Software, account, characters, housing, items, currency or coin or any other copyrighted, trademarked or patented material in Asheron’s Call.
-Repeated non-confirmed reports that are deemed intentionally false and harassing.
-Excessive shouting (use of all caps), spamming or flooding (continuous posting of repetitive text).
-Posting Web links or URLs in the game that point to content deemed by Turbine to be inappropriate, including, without limitation, any Web links or URLs directed to other commercial products or services. You may not post Web links or URLs to any materials (including software and other information) that could harm (or is designed to harm) other users’ computers or would allow others to inappropriately access software or websites. Turbine does not allow the posting of destructive software, use of computer programs that contain destructive features, or access to any content such as viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or bots for the use of scrolling, showing multiple screens, and other activities that can be disruptive to online communication.
-Disruptive behavior, including, but not limited to, acts that degrade the Asheron’s Call online service performance or other players’ client Software (for example, dropping excessive items or summoning excessive portals).
-Use of the Asheron’s Call Software and/or services for illegal activities. Turbine is not responsible for anything you say in-game or on our chat rooms or forums, or for any consequences that arise from what you say. If you break the law, you alone will be responsible for the consequences. You cannot use our software or services to publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene, or other unlawful material, images, text, or information. You may not use the Asheron’s Call Software or services for chats relating to illegal drugs or any illegal purpose. You may not use any chat, profile, or other Asheron’s Call software or services for the purpose of linking to external sites that violate this Code of Conduct.
-Communicating any other player’s real world information through the use of the Asheron’s Call or related web sites.
Note: Turbine has final say over what constitutes a violation of this Code. Turbine reserves the right to change the Code of Conduct at any time. Check http://www.fuzeqna.com/asheronscall/consumer/kbdetail.asp?kbid=305 for updates to the Asheron’s Call Code of Conduct.
Remedies to inappropriate behavior:
-A player who violates the Code of Conduct may be warned by Turbine staff, but some particularly serious violations or repeated violations can result in other sanctions, such as a lockout or permanent ban, without warning. In addition, we reserve the right to delete characters or entire accounts as we see fit, without warning, for certain violations.
-Turbine reserves the right to revoke this license or terminate the service account of anyone who advocates or encourages expressions of violence, bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity. Turbine does not tolerate racial, ethnic, sexual, or religious slurs.
-While we encourage players to use the features of the game that allow reporting of abuse and violations of the Code of Conduct, please do so with care. Repeated false reports may result in suspension or removal of the reporting player.
-All chat in Asheron’s Call is logged and may be reviewed at any time to assist in making decisions regarding violations of the Code of Conduct. This includes, but is not limited to, private chat, fellowship chat and allegiance chat.
-Players who violate the Code of Conduct are subject to having their applicable character name listed as a violator on the Asheron’s Call website at ac.turbine.com. |
